Prokil were approached by the main contractor undertaking restoration work for the local Liberal Club, in Seven Oaks. There were concerns raised with decorative spoiling along the external walls.
A qualified damp surveyor attended to carry out investigations as to the cause of the problem; it was found that the decorative spoiling had been caused by a historic gutter leak which had lead to penetrating damp. As water had migrated through the walls it had bought with it salts and minerals which caused the plaster to be contaminated and in need of specialist remedial damp proofing works.
What we did
Our fully trained damp remedial technicians removed the affected plaster work, injected a new chemical damp proof course and pinned a cavity drain membrane to the wall. Subsequently plaster board was adhered to the membrane and finished with a plaster skim top coat.
